Theophani Sarigianis is a cradle born Orthodox Christian. Her passion for Christ started at the home. Her father Elias Damianakis is an Iconographer and Archon Maestor of the Order of Saint Andrew so she was always around people who felt strongly about the faith. In high school Theophani created a blog for Religious Freedoms as her senior project to bring about awareness internationally to the injustices of religious freedoms going on in Istanbul, Turkey and in the hopes that in the mere future there can be a change in church and state policies for minorites. She created “Halki Wear” sweatshirts that were distributed to the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in support of and hopeful re-opening of the theological school Halki Seminary. After being accepted to Hellenic College she joined the Missions Department in hopes growing upon her senior project to fight futher for Religious Freedoms in Turkey, but in the process she fell in love with the vocation of the mission field. She has been on various trips to Albania, Mexico and Kenya. She started a new blog to create awareness about Orthodoxy around the world and started Damianakis Photography with the same intentions by taking video blogs/pictures along the way. She graduated Hellenic College in 2012, and started at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology right after. She recently got married to Steven Sarigianis in April 2017 and currently lives in Stamford, CT.

Theophani is encouraged by the work of Mother Maria and the dedication she has to the minorities through Christ’s love and resurrection. Risking everything and fearing nothing, Mother Maria is an example of the spiritual conquests of Christ in the darkest of times.
